Hello Readers and happy Tuesday!
Last weekend some friends and I went to Honey Pot Hill in Massachusetts and it was so incredibly fun! It was cloudy day and we assumed it would be a quick day with not a lot of people. We were very wrong! Cloudy or sunny Honey Pot hill is packed and with good reason. The apples were rich in flavor and are on a different level compared to whatever you get at a super market.
As you know I am an avid supporter of local farms and encourage you to do the same no matter where you live. I could honestly go on for a few pages on the details of the yummy apples but, instead I will give you a list other fun stuff at the orchard.
- Apple cider donuts- I mean…yes..just yes
- Petting farm-great for the little kids and us kid-adults
- Grill-hot yummy food like wings for after the hard cider tent
- Hard cider tent- 21 plus
- Ice cream, caramel apples and shakes!
- Relaxing scenery!
With my bag of apples I made a German apple cake for my mom’s birthday with the recipe on the back of the brochure I got at the orchard. This cake was so moist, my mom requested another for this week! Great excuse for me to go back to the orchard before the season slips away.
Tell me your favorite apple recipes and places to go apple picking! I would love to check out other orchards in the area.
