Today I am sharing with you the first of many apple desserts to come this season. Now this is something we have made before called apple dumplings. I find this treat to be a unique twist on eating apples through out the season, I mean who doesn’t love pastry crust, warm spices, brown sugar, butter and tart apples in September! The recipe is simple and I follow a great one from the food network, but you can make it even more simple by buying pre made pastry dough. Recently I had a small event that I catered and the dish I got the most feedback on was actually not on the original menu. I replaced a more complex dish with stuffed mushrooms, a last minuet decision made while out shopping because the store was out of stock of what I was originally looking for. Now stuffed mushrooms are delicious on their own but, I was honestly worried because as it was not as planned out as the other plates were. The amazing reviews about the mushrooms reminded me that cooking is an expression of love, and as long as people can taste the love I put in my food, I do not have to fear the outcome.
